President receives Constitutional Chamber Chairman Duisheyev

Bishkek, May 4, 2020. /Kabar/. On the eve of Kyrgyzstan’s Constitution Day, President Sooronbay Jeenbekov received Chairman of the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic Karybek Duisheyev.

Jeenbekov congratulated the Constitutional Chamber chairman and all people of Kyrgyzstan on the upcoming holiday, his press service reported.

The President noted the special role of the Constitutional Chamber in ensuring the stability of life activity of the state. He wished success in further work on the implementation of constitutional control and protection of constitutional human and civil rights and freedoms in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Duisheyev spoke about the main plans and immediate tasks of the Constitutional Chamber, including digitalization and improvement of material and technical support.

He also informed President Jeenbekov about the organization of the work of judges and the staff of the Constitutional Chamber in a remote regime under a state of emergency.

On May 5 Kyrgyzstan marks the Constitution Day.

On that day, in 1993, at its 12th session, the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz Republic adopted the Constitution. From that moment on, the Republic of Kyrgyzstan became known as the Kyrgyz Republic, and the Constitution of the Kyrgyz SSR adopted in 1978 lost its force.

Since its adoption, the Constitution has been amended and supplemented on several occasions, in February 2003, November and December 2006, October 2007 and June 2010.
