Bishkek, June 1, 2021 . / Kabar / . President Sadyr Zhaparov received on Tuesday Special Representative of the European Union for Central Asia, Ambassador Peter Burian on the occasion of completion of his mission, his press service said.
The head of state stressed that strengthening of partnership with the European Union is one of the main priorities of the country's foreign policy.
Besides, President Zhaparov considers it important to hold the First Economic Forum "European Union - Central Asia" in October 2021 in Bishkek in a full-time format.
He also noted the importance of drafting a new agreement on enhanced partnership and cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the European Union.
In turn, Peter Burian expressed the hope that the friendship between the EU and Kyrgyzstan will continue to be based on universally recognized values and principles of cooperation.
At the end of the conversation, Zhaparov expressed gratitude to Peter Burian for his successful work as the EU Special Representative for Central Asia and wished all the best in his future activities.
