President receives Minister of Natural Resources Kutmanova

Bishkek, April 26, 2022 . / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov received on Tuesday Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision Dinara Kutmanova.

During the meeting, the head of state was informed about the main directions of the ministry's work in the field of environmental protection and the industry of subsoil use, including the achievements of Kyrgyzstan over the past year and a half in the issues of natural resources, environment and technical supervision.

Kyrgyzstan to date has significantly advanced its climate ambitions. Since November 2020, the climate agenda has been identified as one of the top priorities of the environmental protection agency, as one of the global challenges of our time.

Dinara Kutmanova also spoke about the implementation of the Zhashyl Muras (Green Heritage) program, which was launched on March 12, about the work to restore the environmental control system throughout the country and on the strategy for development of the subsoil sector, in particular on the issue of state participation in the development of deposits in Kyrgyzstan.

The president and the minister also discussed the range of activities of the ministry to attract climate finance as a result of the negotiations and initiatives, voiced at the World Leaders Summit of the 26th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Glasgow. In the near future, the issues of climate finance are expected to be resolved, which will be aimed at addressing problems in the energy and transport sectors.

Following the meeting, Sadyr Zhaparov instructed Minister Dinara Kutmanova to enhance the quality and timely implementation of the Zhashyl Muras program and to speed up work on solving the issues of climate financing and state share in the development of the country's deposits.
