President: Russia is the most important investor in the economy of Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Oct. 24, 2018. /Kabar/. “Russia is our ally and strategic partner, one of the close and trusted friendly countries. We have one destiny and one history with Russia. The main investor is the Russian Federation. During our meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin, we also discuss each time the strengthening of socio-economic, trade, cultural and humanitarian relations. In the future, there are still a lot of joint projects to be implemented,” Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov told on Wednesday during a working visit to Naryn oblast, where he took part in the opening of a sports complex built in Naryn by Gazprom.

The country leader noted that similar modern sports complexes were also built in other cities of the republic in the framework of the Gazprom to Children project, the press service of the Kyrgyz President’s Office reported.

He congratulated Naryn residents on this significant event and thanked Gazprom and its Russian partners.

Jeenbekov stressed that the Gazprom company, which provides Kyrgyzstan with fuel and lubricants, natural gas, from the beginning of its activities in the republic has invested more than 30 billion soms in the country, has paid taxes of more than 42 billion soms. About 10 thousand Kyrgyz citizens work in various structures of the company. Gazprom has built a sports complex in almost every region, at the moment a modern school is being built in Bishkek with all the conditions for 960 students.

On an annual basis, assistance is provided to veterans of the Great Patriotic War, medical institutions, orphanages, hospitals and people with disabilities.

The President noted that Gazprom is carrying out large-scale work to implement the master plan for gas supply to Kyrgyzstan until 2030. The company Gazprom Kyrgyzstan aims to gasify 60% of the territory of Kyrgyzstan by 2030, providing blue fuel to over 400 settlements of the republic.

Today, gas distribution networks with a length of more than 400 km have been built in 16 residential areas of the city of Bishkek, settlements of Chuy and Osh oblasts, and conditions have been created for gasification of more than 20,000 households.

“Gazprom’s activities in Kyrgyzstan have a positive impact on the development of the country's economy. I am confident that our fruitful cooperation and effective partnership will be continued,” the President emphasized.

He wished athletes to be trained in this sport complex, who will achieve great results in sports and glorify their country on the world stage.

Bolot Abildaev, Director General of the Gazprom Kyrgyzstan LLC, informed that as part of the Gazprom to Children program in Kyrgyzstan, 9 physical culture and health centers have been built. In total, 16 similar sports complexes will be built in Kyrgyzstan. The opening of similar sports complex will soon take place in Jalal-Abad. The sports complex was built using modern, high-quality materials and sports equipment.
