President Sadyr Zhaparov meets with compatriots living in Turkey

Bishkek, June 10, 2021. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met today in Ankara with compatriots living in various cities of Turkey.

The head of state noted that he was glad to come from Kyrgyzstan and meet with compatriots living and working in Turkey, to visit and learn about their life.

“I think that those who are not indifferent to the development of Kyrgyzstan and the fate of our compatriots have gathered in this hall. I would like to speak with you openly, please share information that I do not know. I am deeply concerned about the fate of every migrant compatriot, we must solve their problems,” Sadyr Zhaparov said.

At the same time, the head of Kyrgyzstan spoke about his official visit to Turkey, in particular, about meetings with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Chairman of the Grand National Assembly Mustafa Shentop, and reached agreements.

In addition, at the meeting, the head of state spoke about some reforms and transformations aimed at the development of Kyrgyzstan.

He noted that a reform of the public administration system had begun in the republic, a new version of the Constitution was adopted by a majority vote in a referendum, and the Law “On the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic” was signed.

“I am confident that the new Constitution will successfully serve the interests of our people and will contribute to the further effective development of Kyrgyzstan. We were not afraid to raise environmental issues at the Kumtor mine. I would also like to note that strengthening the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of our migrant citizens abroad, facilitating the conditions for their stay abroad and other issues are always in my heart. On the first day of my inauguration of the president, I signed five decrees, one of which was the Decree "On the adoption of measures aimed at improving the migration situation", and the other - "On the procedure for repatriating the bodies of Kyrgyz citizens who died abroad to the Kyrgyz Republic," he said.

He also noted that the tariffs for consular services for processing documents in Kyrgyz missions abroad have been reduced to 80%, the registration of a certificate of return to Kyrgyzstan is carried out in electronic format and is immediately issued to a citizen upon admission, whereas before it took more than three days.

In addition, citizens abroad have the opportunity to receive documents of a social and legal nature from the state bodies of Kyrgyzstan in electronic format.

He also said that work is underway to open the Consulate General of Kyrgyzstan in Antalya.

Speaking about the Meken Kart initiative, the head of state emphasized that in order to develop new industries in Kyrgyzstan, implement investment projects, legalize labor migrants who have returned to Kyrgyzstan, and create jobs, a special tax regime has been established, and tools will also be developed to motivate labor migrants, conditions have been created for investing in the national economy.

Particular attention will be paid to regulating the legal status of compatriots who have received foreign citizenship, creating conditions for their return, residence, education and medical care, as well as simplifying the procedure for re-acquiring Kyrgyz citizenship.

Sadyr Zhaparov also stressed that the functions of the State Migration Service in the field of external migration have been transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, which will help and increase efficiency in resolving a number of issues of labor migrants.
