President Sadyr Zhaparov’s participation in SCO Summit in Astana over

Bishkek, July 5, 2024. /Kabar/. The participation of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov in the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, held in the city of Astana (Republic of Kazakhstan), has ended.

On the first day of the working visit, July 3, the head of state held talks with President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping.

On July 4, President Sadyr Zhaparov took part in a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The event began with the signing ceremony of the document on Belarus' full membership in the SCO.

Speaking at the meeting, Sadyr Zhaparov stated that existing global problems, such as terrorism, cyber threats and international crime, require close attention and joint work, noting the importance of the presented initiative of Kyrgyzstan to create a Center for Combating International Organized Crime in Bishkek.

Following the SCO summit, the leaders of the countries signed a number of multilateral documents aimed at developing mutually beneficial cooperation between members of the Organization.

Sadyr Zhaparov took part in a meeting in the “SCO plus” format, which took place on the sidelines of a meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State.

The event was attended by the heads of the SCO member states, observer countries, as well as UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov, CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev and others from international organizations.

In his speech, President Sadyr Zhaparov noted that in the modern world, in the context of interconnectedness and global challenges, it is necessary to strengthen multilateral dialogue to ensure peace and sustainable development. This provides an opportunity to find optimal ways for mutually beneficial cooperation, as well as pooling resources, knowledge and experience to overcome problems that no one country can solve alone.

Having completed his working visit to Kazakhstan, President Sadyr Japarov returned to Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul region, on July 4.
