Bishkek, Nov. 29, 2024 . / Kabar / . The working visit of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov to Kazakhstan, which took place on Nov. 27-28, has come to an end, his press service reported.
In Astana, the Kyrgyz leader took part in the regular session of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
The session was chaired by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
In his speech, President Zhaparov noted that the development of the situation in the world and the region requires united efforts not only in combating security threats, but also in preserving peace and stability. In this regard, the decision of the Collective Security Council "On further strengthening of allied relations within the CSTO" testifies to the common desire to further build cooperation in the spirit of alliance.
The president also announced Kyrgyzstan's intention to hold an International Conference on Cyber Security in 2025.
During the session, topical problems of international and regional security and the main results of the Organization's activities during the intersessional period were discussed.
At the end of the regular session, a number of documents were signed, including the decision of the CSTO SCS "On the Targeted Interstate Program of the Collective Security Treaty Organization on Strengthening the Tajik-Afghan Border".
The chairmanship of the CSTO from Jan. 1, 2025 passed from Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan.
Having completed his working visit, President Sadyr Zhaparov returned to Bishkek on Nov. 28.
