President: Until 2023, all the priorities taken by Kyrgyzstan within international agreements will be met

Bishkek, Nov. 1, 2018. /Kabar/. The 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals until 2030 are actively employed in the National Strategy 2040, President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov told at the meeting with development partners and donors.

He recalled that Kyrgyzstan assumed obligations in the framework of the UN Sustainable Development Agenda until 2030, the Paris Agreement on climate change and other documents in the field of human rights.

“On September 25, 2018, I took part in the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly and noted that Kyrgyzstan is committed to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda at the national level. Multilateral cooperation under the auspices of the UN in order to achieve social and humanitarian progress, sustainable development is an important area of ​​our joint work. The Kyrgyz Republic is committed to moving away from investment projects that are harmful to the environment, primarily in the mining and chemical industries. Our country also intends to intensify processes to attract resources of the Green Climate Fund for the introduction of new and green technologies,” he said.

The President also added that we will carry out separate work on adaptation to climate change and the prevention of emergency situations.

“At the first stage, until 2023, all the priorities taken by Kyrgyzstan within the framework of international agreements will be met,” the President added.
