Bishkek, Oct. 23, 2021 / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov urged Kyrgyz citizens not to be afraid of tourists, no matter what nation they are.

Answering the question of journalists at the press conference about the increase of Pakistani and Indian citizens in Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Zhaparov said that in summer, many flights to Dubai were closed due to the coronavirus infection.

“The citizens of India and Pakistan asked to be allowed a transit flight through Kyrgyzstan. About 15 thousand foreigners flew through our country. They had 5 days of time and went to Issyk-Kul to see. I also watched the events on social networks, but I kept everything under control - how many people, where they came from, flew away. After that, we closed the flight due to the increase in cases of coronavirus infection. But if you look at it that way, they were tourists. Each of them left about USD 1,000. This is their contribution to the country's economy. I would urge our citizens not to be afraid of tourists, no matter what nation they are,” the president said.
