Bishkek, Aug. 4, 2020 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted the importance of supporting initiatives on agricultural cooperation, which allows to unite efforts of farmers in the regions to grow better and more competitive products.
The press service of the President said that the head of state shared this opinion during his acquaintance with the activities of the Zarya seed agricultural cooperative in Ak-Suu region of Issyk-Kul Oblast.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov thanked the head of Zarya, Ivan Chernysh, for his creative work and job creation in rural areas.
In addition, this farm is a conscientious taxpayer and makes a tangible contribution to the development of the economy of the region, the republic as a whole. It also annually provides sponsorship assistance to low-income families of the Teploklyuchenka village, providing them with seeds of agricultural crops.
“Great attention will continue to be paid to the development of agriculture, support of rural entrepreneurs,” the head of state emphasized, noting the availability of preferential funds provided by the country's financial institutions for rural producers. At the same time, there are also gaps that need to be addressed for the development of the country's agricultural sector.
Zarya agricultural cooperative grows improved varieties of wheat and barley seeds and provides Issyk-Kul Oblast with them, while applying new irrigation technologies.
In addition, the cooperative, in cooperation with a German company, grows high quality potatoes and distributes them to local farmers.
As a result of many years of production, the cooperative in 2014 was recognized as The Leading Taxpayer in Kyrgyzstan and was awarded a special badge for contribution to the budget of the Kyrgyz Republic. In addition, for its contribution to the development of animal husbandry, the cooperative was awarded the status of Pedigree animal husbandry. Sheep, cows, yaks and horses are raised here.
Today it employs 172 people.
