President will announce new economic strategy in near future: Cabinet Head Zhaparov

Bishkek, Dec.4, 2024. /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration Akylbek Zhaparov spoke at a solemn event dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF).

“The achievements we have made in the last 3 years inspire optimism in us, and we are ready to move forward along the path of successful countries of East Asia, which are called “Asian tigers”. And literally in the near future our President will announce a new strategy “Economic Miracle - 2030”, which we also call “Leap of the Leopard” and which will be the starting point for the transformation of our economy for the next decades. We set ourselves the task of achieving a GDP level of up to $30 billion by 2030,” said Akylbek Zhaparov.

The head of the Cabinet of Ministers added that to achieve this ambitious goal, Kyrgyzstan plans to attract significant investments and carry out large-scale modernization of the economy.

“An important role in this process will be played by the RKDF, which will focus on financing projects in priority sectors such as: renewable energy, production clusters, development of trade and logistics infrastructure and innovations in agriculture,” he said.

Zhaparov emphasized that special attention will be paid to the creation of a modern trade and logistics hub and Kyrgyz-Russian technology park.

The chairman of the Kyrgyz Cabinet stressed the important role of the Fund both for Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation and for the development of the Kyrgyz economy as a whole.

“The first loan of the Fund was issued in September 2015, and to date, the RKDF has financed more than 3,500 projects in all regions of the country for a total amount of more than USD 760 million,” he said.

Akylbek Zhaparov also noted significant economic achievements of Kyrgyzstan over the past year, including GDP growth, increase in state assets and budget, as well as commissioning of many new production and social facilities. He particularly emphasized the contribution of the RKDF to the implementation of more than 25 projects to mark the anniversary of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Oblast.
