President: Work on export of domestic products will be actively continued

Bishkek, Mar.10, 2020. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov inspected on Tuesday infrastructure and agricultural projects in Batken Oblast.

The President’s getting acquainted was held as part of his two-day working trip to the oblast.

In particular, the Kyrgyz leader familiarized himself with the projects on construction of a logistics center, a dairy processing plant, a glass plant, a reinforced concrete plant and a slaughterhouse in the city of Batken, his press service said.

All these projects are to be implemented on the territory of Batken industrial zone.

It was noted that the total cost of the project on construction of logistics center in Batken city is KGS 46.5 million. The Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund is expected to partially raise funds for its construction. The project is planned to be completed in 2021. The logistics centre will allow storing up to 1000 tons of various products.

Completion of the construction of the apricot processing plant is scheduled for the current year, a dairy processing plant, a glass plant and a slaughterhouse for 2021, a reinforced concrete plant for 2022.

In his conversation with local residents, President Jeenbekov stressed the importance of supporting local entrepreneurs and creating an appropriate infrastructure to bring domestic products to foreign markets, improve the competitiveness of local producers and their quality.

The head of state emphasized that within the framework of regional development the work on opening of enterprises, creation of new jobs in the regions and improvement of conditions for export of domestic products will be actively continued.

Further, the President inspected the road equipment, which is being transferred under the Central Asia Road Links Program Project with the assistance of the World Bank.

Jeenbekov expressed gratitude to the WB for its assistance in implementing this project. A total of 46 road equipment worth about US $3 million was handed over.

Improvement of road infrastructure, construction and reconstruction of roads is an integral part of the country's regional development.

Sooronbay Jeenbekov added the modernization of the transport network will create conditions for unlocking the regions' economic potential.
