Bishkek, Jan. 27, 2022 . / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov delivered a welcoming speech at the first India-Central Asia Summit, held on Jan. 27 in a videoconferencing format, his press service said.
After welcoming the Summit participants, the Kyrgyz leader expressed gratitude to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the initiative and invitation to the first India-Central Asia Dialogue Summit.
He also congratulated the Indian people on the 73rd anniversary of Republic Day.
“This year, the Central Asian states and India are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations. Over these years, through mutual efforts, our countries have built friendly relations, established a strategic partnership and developed cooperation in political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres and in the field of security. In this regard, the Kyrgyz Republic supports the initiative of the Indian side to hold the India-Central Asia Dialogue at the level of Heads of State in the anniversary year,” Zhaparov said.
The president of Kyrgyzstan noted that there is a deep political understanding between the Kyrgyz Republic and India, which allows for the development of fruitful cooperation based on traditional friendship and mutual trust.
“In conclusion, I would like to express my regret that due to the spread of another "wave" of coronavirus pandemic, our first summit has to be held online. I hope that at the next summit we will meet in a face-to-face format,” President Zhaparov concluded.
