Bishkek, April 4, 2022 . / Kabar /. An agreement on the transfer of the Kumtor gold mine will be signed today, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov said during the Republican meeting of social workers on Monday.
"The signing of the agreement on Kumtor will take place tonight at 6:30 p.m. via video conferencing. The issue was resolved peacefully, without litigates, and is being decided in favor of Kyrgyzstan. In addition to Kumtor, we have six more gold deposits. We will develop all gold mines ourselves, for this purpose we established the Nomadic Heritage holding. We are increasing salaries because we rely on the income from these deposits and will continue to raise the well-being of our citizens," the president said.
Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan approved a draft agreement on the global settlement of mutual claims between Kyrgyzstan and Centerra on the Kumtor deposit.
Bishkek is hosting the Republican meeting of social workers with the participation of President Sadyr Zhaparov.
The event, attended by representatives of education, health, culture and social protection from all regions of the country, will discuss pressing issues of socio-economic development of the republic.
