Bishkek, Sept. 17, 2022. / Kabar /. “We will make every effort to resolve the border issue. We will work on this every minute,” President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov wrote on Facebook commenting on the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border.
“During the conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, there are those who died among our compatriots. My deep condolences to the families, parents and loved ones of the victims. They gave their lives defending every centimeter of our land, they died fulfilling their sacred duty,” the head of state wrote.
He noted that the authorities will take care of the families of the victims.
“Unfortunately, many people died in yesterday's armed conflicts. Dear brothers and sisters, each of the dead citizen is the son and daughter of all Kyrgyzstanis.
Therefore, I would like to wish the people of Kyrgyzstan courage in overcoming this difficult situation. In turn, I would like to express deep gratitude to the border guards for their courage, bravery and heroism in repelling enemy attacks,” the president added.
Sadyr Zhaparov said that there were victims not only from the Kyrgyz side, according to some reports, the Tajik side also suffered a heavy loss.
“Whatever it was, we will not give anyone a single centimeter of land inherited from our ancestors. We will strongly protect national interests,” he said.
