Bishkek, Nov. 22, 2021 . / Kabar / . President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met on Monday with UFC flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko, who has arrived the day before in the republic.
Having welcomed the athlete, the Kyrgyz leader congratulated Shevchenko on the 6th defense of the UFC champion title, his press service said.
Sadyr Zhaparov expressed gratitude to parents of the champion and her coach for the highest level of excellence in training athletes, for the will to win and achieving the highest results.
"We will continue to make every effort to create conditions for all citizens who want to do sports," the president assured.
The UFC flyweight champion thanked the president of Kyrgyzstan and all compatriots for their support and warm welcome, noting that she was happy to be back home in Kyrgyzstan.
Zhaparov noted that Shevchenko’s arrival is a joyful event for all Kyrgyz people, as the entire country is rooting for her success and following her athletic career.
The head of state presented the athlete with a monetary certificate worth KGS 1 million and gifts for her coach Pavel Fedotov and mother Elena Shevchenko.
In her turn, Valentina Shevchenko presented President Zhaparov with a cap, a T-shirt, as well as combat gloves, in which she defended her title for the 6th time at the UFC 266 tournament in this September in Las Vegas.
