Bishkek, Oct. 4, 2024. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met with Secretary of State of the Holy See (Vatican) Pietro Parolin, his press service said.
The Kyrgyz leader noted with satisfaction the Vatican's efforts to strengthen intercultural and interreligious dialogue.
Speaking about the domestic political situation in Kyrgyzstan, Zhaparov emphasized that in recent years the country has been undergoing important reforms aimed at strengthening democratic institutions and ensuring stability.
He stressed that Kyrgyzstan strives to keep up with global trends and considers sustainable development of the education sector as one of the priority areas of state policy.
During the conversation, Sadyr Zhaparov, taking into account the rich heritage of the Vatican Library, proposed considering the issue of establishing cooperation with the National Library of Kyrgyzstan. He emphasized the great potential for exchanging archival research, which can contribute not only to deepening scientific knowledge, but also to strengthening cultural ties.
In addition, the president of Kyrgyzstan touched upon the healthcare sector, noting that this sector is one of the priority areas of the country's social policy. In particular, he proposed establishing cooperation between medical institutions of Kyrgyzstan and the Bambino Gesu Hospital, which is one of the leading medical organizations in Europe, known for its advanced technologies and high level of medical care, especially in the field of pediatric oncology and transplantology.
In turn, Secretary of State Pietro Parolin stated that Kyrgyzstan and the Central Asian region as a whole are of great interest to the Holy See. He highlighted cultural cooperation and interaction in the field of healthcare as priority areas. He also emphasized the importance of promoting issues of mutual coexistence of the peoples of the world.
