Bishkek, Feb. 4, 2022. / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov invited Chinese athletes and sports lovers to come to Kyrgyzstan to experience its ski resorts and the charm of Kyrgyzstan’s natural resources during his interview with CGTN.
Speaking about the Winter Olympics in Beijing, the Kyrgyz president noted that in ancient times, as a symbol of friendship and peace, the conflicts were suspended for the Olympics Games. “Today this sports event still has the unique charm to unite people all over the world. The Olympics are an opportunity for people of all nations and nationalities to promote friendship,” he said.
President Zhaparov expressed confidence that the Beijing Olympics will write a new chapter in the history of the Winter Olympics in terms of content, size and excitement. “In terms of advocating the popularization of winter sports this is a proposal that’s very adapted to the current times. Under this ongoing pandemic it is of great significance not only for China, but all people of the world to keep fit and fight the disease. I think pursuing healthy lifestyle and physical exercises will gradually become a global trend. I am very happy that winter sports are popular among the public and all sports fans can enjoy the fun of winter sports here I would also like to recommend our ski resorts and our country as Kyrgyzstan has been rated many times by the international tourism organization as one of the top 10 winter sports countries in the world. I sincerely invite Chinese athletes and sports lovers to come to Kyrgyzstan to experience our ski resorts and the charm of Kyrgyzstan’s natural resources,” Zhaparov noted.
The Kyrgyz president also praised the anti-epidemic measures taken by the Chinese government.
“Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, China has taken effective prevention and control measures and made great progress to fight against the virus. As for the measures taken in the Winter Olympics, first of all, these prevention and control measures are to ensure that health and safety of all participants and spectators of the Winter Olympics. It also demonstrates the commitment by the Chinese government to hold this major sports event safely, which is a great responsibility for the event of such significance,” he stressed.
President Sadyr Zhaparov is visiting China at the invitation of Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
During the working visit on Feb. 3-6, the Kyrgyz president will participate in the opening ceremony of the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing and hold a meeting with President of China Xi Jinping.
