Bishkek, Jan. 25, 2022 . / Kabar /. "Today we can confidently state the high level of relations between our states based on strategic partnership," President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov said Tuesday during “Central Asia-PRC” Online Summit to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, his press service said.
The head of state noted that the event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations of the Central Asian states, including Kyrgyzstan, with the People's Republic of China is a significant and important event for the peoples of Central Asia.
"The modern world order is undergoing a profound transformation and dictates the need to coordinate our activities in regional security and stability, strengthening cooperation in the political, economic, trade and other important areas of life. The PRC is making great efforts to strengthen regional security, fully assist the socio-economic development of the Central Asian states, put forward initiatives and promote them for a harmonious coexistence and a stable international environment," Sadyr Zhaparov said.
The Kyrgyz leader reminded that 30 years ago, in January 1992, the Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and China was signed.
In addition, the president added that the fundamental document of bilateral relations by right is the Treaty of Good Neighborhood, Friendship and Cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China signed in 2002. This treaty gave a powerful impetus to intensify ties at the state and humanitarian levels.
"The development and strengthening of ties led our countries to establish a completely new level of relations in 2013. The Joint Declaration on Further Deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership signed in 2019 shows that there are no issues between the Kyrgyz Republic and the People's Republic of China that impede good neighborliness and friendship between our peoples. From the moment of Kyrgyzstan's independence the Government of China has been providing all-round support and assistance to our country,” Zhaparov stressed.
He outlined major infrastructure projects in transport, energy, healthcare, irrigation, education, construction of social facilities that have been implemented in the country with the participation of Chinese capital. These projects have an important socio-economic importance for the achievement of prosperity.
In addition, President Zhaparov expressed gratitude to the Chinese side and heads of Central Asian states for their support and joint sponsorship of the UN resolutions on declaring 2022 as the "International Year of Sustainable Mountain Development" and UNESCO "Strengthening Mountain Glacier Monitoring and Research", which he initiated during the general debates of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly.
