President Zhaparov visits conflict-hit Maksat village in Batken Oblast

Bishkek, May 27, 2021 . / Kabar / . Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov visited the village of Maksat of Leilek region, which suffered during the events at the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border.

The visit was held as part of the Kyrgyz president’s working trip to Batken Oblast, his press service said.

The president toured the destroyed facilities, including the burnt-out school, and inspected the construction of residential houses and educational facilities, in particular the project of a new two-story kindergarten for 100 children.

Zhaparov also met with local residents, with whom he talked in detail about the work on delimitation and demarcation of the state border.

The Kyrgyz leader stressed that Batken Oblast is and will be given special attention by the state.

During the talk, local residents raised a number of topics on support for those injured during the events, as well as personal issues.

At the same time, residents of the Maksat village expressed gratitude for the support provided by the state and concerned Kyrgyz citizens, noting that humanitarian aid from is arriving from all over the country.

At the end of the meeting, Sadyr Zhaparov gave a number of instructions to representatives of the relevant state bodies and local authorities to address the issues raised, and also demanded that the restoration and construction of all facilities be completed as planned.
