Bishkek, Nov. 17, 2024 . / Kabar / . President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov took part in voting at the election of deputies of the Bishkek City Council.
The Kyrgyz leader voted at the polling station № 1046 in Bishkek, his press service said.
After voting, President Zhaparov addressed the citizens, noting that the electoral system in the country has significantly improved and become transparent.
"We have automated the electoral system. Now the human factor in vote counting has been eliminated. The election results will be known as soon as 20-30 minutes after the voting is over. Re-voting at another polling station is impossible, which eliminates the practices of the past, such as "carousels" and mass ballot stuffing," he emphasized.
The head of state urged citizens to actively participate in the elections, reminding that every person between the ages of 18 and 100 has the right to vote.
Elections to local councils are scheduled by the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Amendments to the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Dissolution of Local Councils of the Kyrgyz Republic and Appointment of Elections of Deputies of Local Councils of the Kyrgyz Republic" dated Sept. 6, 2024 № 256.
Elections are held in 33 city and 231 aiyl councils.
