President Zhaparov’s state visit to Mongolia completed

Bishkek, July 12, 2023. /Kabar/. The state visit of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov to Mongolia, which took place at the invitation of President of the Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh on July 9-11, has been completed.

The leaders of the two countries held an official meeting ceremony in Ulaanbaatar on July 9, after which they held talks in narrow and extended formats.

The presidents discussed topical issues of Kyrgyz-Mongolian bilateral and multilateral cooperation, outlined priorities of joint interaction in the future.

Special attention was paid to issues of trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian nature.

Following the talks, Sadyr Zhaparov and Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh signed the Joint Declaration of Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia on Establishing Friendship and Cooperation.

In addition, a number of documents aimed at further development of Kyrgyz-Mongolian bilateral cooperation were signed.

On the same day, the Kyrgyz leader held talks with the country's Prime Minister Luvsannamsrain Oyun-Erdene and Chairman of the Great State Khural of Mongolia Gombojav Zandanshatar.

On the second day of the state visit, Sadyr Zhaparov visited the Erdenet state enterprise in the city of the same name. The enterprise is considered to be the largest copper-molybdenum ore mining and beneficiation plant in Asia.

The head of state toured the open pit and the plant's factory, where copper-molybdenum concentrate exported abroad is produced.

During the visit to the enterprise, the Kyrgyz delegation familiarized with the technical and technological transformations of the plant, in particular, with Mongolia's experience in using advanced technologies to extract copper from the ore of the Erdenet deposit. Taking into account that Kyrgyzstan lacks factories and technologies to extract copper from gold-copper concentrates, the Kyrgyz side was interested in this experience.

In the evening of the same day, Sadyr Zhaparov together with spouse Aigul Zhaparova visited the “Genghis Khan" museum in Ulaanbaatar.

On the final day of the state visit, the opening of the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Ulaanbaatar took place.

In addition, the Kyrgyz leader and the first lady took part in the opening ceremony of the national holiday of Mongolia - Naadam.

In the evening, July 11, having completed his state visit to Mongolia, Sadyr Zhaparov returned to Bishkek.
