Bishkek, Nov. 1, 2020. /Kabar/. Four candidates have submitted their documents for participation in the upcoming early presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan.
According to the press service of the country's Central Elections Commission, 59-year-old president of the Leader-Anticrisis Public Foundation Nazarbek Nyshanov has registeted his candidacy.
Another candidate is Arstanbek Abdyldayev, a 52-year-old director of Aurdin LLC.
Kuban Choroyev, 39, a chairman of the Board of Revival of Historical and Cultural Heritage and Spirituality "Ancient Nomadic Civilization" Public Foundation has also submitted his documents for participation in the presidential elections.
Earlier, on Oct. 30, 2020 Adakhan Madumarov, 55, chairman of Butun Kyrgyzstan political party has registered his candidacy for the post of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The early presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan are scheduled for Jan. 10, 2021.
Kyrgyzstan’s President Sooronbay Jeenbekov resigned on Oct. 15 amid ongoing protests in Bishkek.
The protest actions have started in Bishkek after the parliamentary elections, which were held in Kyrgyzstan on Oct. 4. According to preliminary results of the elections, 4 parties crossed the 7 % threshold to enter the parliament out of 16 political parties participated in the polls.
The losing parties organized protests, demanding the annulment of the elections. The protests brought to clashes between police and protesters.
Kyrgyzstan's Central Election Commission annulled the results of the elections on Oct. 6.
