Baku, Oct. 14, 2019. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov, in the framework of participation in the 7th meeting of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council) in Baku (Azerbaijan), met with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
The prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation were discussed, including the strengthening of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between the countries.
Welcoming Sooronbay Jeenbekov, Ilham Aliyev noted that today is a good opportunity to discuss the prospects of bilateral relations. He emphasized that during the last year's Summit of the CCTS in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, a wide range of issues was discussed.
“Today we continue our dialogue. I am sure that we will discuss issues of further cooperation in the political, economic, humanitarian and other fields,” Ilham Aliyev said.
He emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is a brotherly country, friend and partner of Azerbaijan. He expressed confidence that relations between countries will be strengthened every year.
Ilham Aliyev thanked Sooronbay Jeenbekov for the effective chairmanship of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Turkic Council.
He also expressed confidence that the working visit of Sooronbay Jeenbekov to Azerbaijan would be fruitful and successful.
President Sooronbai Jeenbekov noted that tomorrow's Summit of the Turkic Council in Baku is a jubilee and historical in nature.
He emphasized that thanks to the political will of the President of Azerbaijan, a meeting of the Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani Commission on Economic and Humanitarian Cooperation was successfully held on the eve in Bishkek.
He expressed confidence that this meeting will give a new impetus to bilateral relations between countries, especially in the trade and economic sphere.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov also noted that Azerbaijan is a brotherly and friendly country for Kyrgyzstan, and great importance is attached to the development of bilateral relations with the Azerbaijani side.
Jeenbekov invited t Aliyev to pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan.
Ilham Aliyev thanked for the invitation, noting that he plans to make an official visit to Bishkek in the second half of 2020.
