Presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan to open branch of KazNU and monument to Abai in Bishkek

Bishkek, May 26, 2022. / Kabar /. Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov and Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will open a branch of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) and a monument to Abai in Bishkek.

“Today, Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich and I will take part in the opening ceremony of the monument to the great Kazakh poet Abai Kunanbaev,” the President of the Kyrgyz Republic told reporters.

He said that in the near future, it is planned to open a monument to the hero of our Great Epos - Manas in Nur-Sultan.

“There was a recruitment among the citizens of Kyrgyzstan who want to study at the universities of Kazakhstan for the 2022-2023 academic year according to the quota of 50 places allocated by the Kazakh side. I want to remind you that this was a personal initiative of Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich and we are grateful for this decision. Also, Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich and I will take part in the opening of a branch of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi (KazNU) in Bishkek. I am sure that the Bishkek branch of KazNU will become a forge of personnel that will train highly professional specialists for our countries. We consider it necessary to continue creating conditions for the preservation and development of national culture, customs, traditions on the territory of our states,” Zhaparov said.
