Bishkek, Sept. 22, 2022. / Kabar /. A press tour was held for diplomats and media representatives on social and infrastructure facilities in Batken Oblast of Kyrgyzstan, destroyed as a result of armed aggression by Tajikistan on Sept.14-17, 2022.
The heads of diplomatic missions and representatives of international organizations, as well as representatives of the media visited the villages in the Leilek and Batken regions most affected by the armed aggression of Tajikistan: International, Maksat, Dostuk and Kapchygay.
Local residents and employees of state bodies spoke about past events and illegal actions of armed persons who came from Tajikistan, showed destroyed and looted houses, schools, kindergartens, markets, administrative and social facilities, police stations and other infrastructure facilities.
As a result of a planned armed attack by Tajikistan, 59 Kyrgyz citizens were killed, 198 people were injured of varying severity, more than 140 thousand local residents were evacuated. Also, 374 residential buildings, 171 economic facilities, 10 social facilities (5 schools, 2 kindergartens, 3 medical institutions), 153 life support facilities were destroyed and damaged.
The event, organized by the administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, was attended by heads and representatives of accredited diplomatic missions of such countries as France, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Ukraine, China, USA, Hungary, the Republic of Korea, Iran, Belarus, Mongolia, Pakistan, Qatar , India, Russia, Azerbaijan.
In addition, the press tour was attended by representatives of such international organizations as: the European Union, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the UN World Food Programme, the International Red Cross, the United Nations Population Fund, honorary consuls of Chile, San Marino, Portugal, Republic of Cyprus.
