Bishkek, Feb.5, 2018 / Kabar /. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Sapar Isakov discussed with Chairman of the Kyrgyz State Customs Service (SCS), Kubanychbek Kulmatov the results of the SCS work for the year 2017, as well as the results for January 2018, the press service of the Government reported.
"Under your instructions, we have been working hard to improve the system of administering customs payments for the last six months. This work is already showing its results. Thus, in Jan.2018, customs payments amounting to more than 2.8 bln soms were collected, which is for 907.3 mln soms more than planned,” Kulmatov said.
Whereas, Isakov stressed that the reform in the SCS is one of the priorities of the Government’s work.
"The first results of the reform, related to improving the administration of customs payments, reducing the level of corruption, literally in a month brought to the State budget almost twice as much revenue than during the same period of last year. We see the dynamics of tax inpayments to custom authorities and these figures are very encouraging, for some customs authorities, receipts have grown several times. I am sure that there are reserves in customs and it has a great potential. I demand more decisive steps in fighting corruption," the Head of Government said.
According to the SCS, daily payments to the Central Customs Office a month ago amounted to about 30 mln soms, and today they have doubled (approximately 60 mln soms). At the Osh Customs, customs payments have increased 10 times. Earlier Osh Customs received about 1.5 - 2 mln soms per day, today 15 mln soms are collected every day.
Further, Kulmatov reported the Prime Minister that the SCS received customs payments in the amount of 34.2 bln soms in 2017 .
At the end of the meeting, Isakov and the Head of the SCS discussed further measures to reform the service.

Reference: In January 2018, customs payments totaling more than 2.8 bln soms were collected, with forecasted figures of 1.9 bln soms. The rate of growth was 146.2% or 907.3 mln soms. Over the same period last year (January 2017), only 1.6 bln soms were collected, which is almost half the amount.
To date, daily payments to the Osh Customs approximately amount to 15 mln soms, while according to the forecast , the amount was supposed to be about 7 mln soms. Despite the forecasted 7 mln soms, the Osh Customs office previously actually was collecting only 1.5-2 mln soms.
Out of the total amount of collected customs payments, payments without special taxes amounted to 1 bln 838.1mln soms (190.0% of the forecasted indicators or for 870.8 mln soms more than the established plan), entry fees received in accordance with the Agreement on the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), amounted to 1 bln 33.2 mln soms (103.7% of the forecasted indicators or for 36.5 mln soms more).
As of January 2018, the forecast for customs payments was 1 bln 964.0 mln soms, out of it:
- customs payments without special taxes - 967.3 mln soms;
- entry fees from the EEU countries - 996.7 mln soms.
