Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan and Estonia discuss digital transformation cooperation

Bishkek, Jan. 25, 2018 / Kabar /. Yesterday Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov, as a part of his participation in the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos (Switzerland), met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Estonia, Jüri Ratas.

During the meeting, the current state and prospects of Kyrgyz-Estonian relations were discussed, the press service of the Kyrgyz Government reported.

The Head of Kyrgyz Government said that today the country is actively working on reforming various sectors of the economy and implementing medium-and long-term programs to digitize the activities of state agencies and society as a whole.

Isakov stressed that currently the main focus of the country's government is to implement the digital transformation program Taza Koom, which ultimately will significantly improve the quality of life of the population, minimize corruption risks and increase the income of the republican budget.

The Prime Minister stressed that the Kyrgyz side is interested in Estonia's experience in implementing the digital economy.

"Estonia is a leader country in implementation of e-government services and e-government. We are grateful to you for your assistance in developing similar programs and for sharing experience and knowledge in this field," Isakov said.

The Head of Kyrgyz Government stressed that the implementation of such major projects is impossible without taking into account international experience, and therefore suggested continuing cooperation in this direction.

The Prime Minister of Estonia said that the government of his country intends to continue work on deepening cooperation with countries of Central Asia, including the Kyrgyz Republic. He mentioned that the introduction of advanced digital technologies in the work of Estonian state agencies has significantly increased their effectiveness and transparency of their activities.

"Digitalization of society is, indeed, the only way of development in the modern world. I'm glad that you chose this direction and took a successful start," Ratas said.

In addition, during the meeting the sides discussed measures in increasing mutual trade turnover, investment, and agreed to hold joint business forums on the territory of two countries.
