Prime Minister Sapar Isakov meets with Centerra leadership

Bishkek, Nov. 29, 2017. /Kabar/. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Sapar Isakov met with the executive director of Centerra Gold Inc. Mr. Scott Perry, the Government’s press service reported. During the meeting, prospects of joint cooperation were discussed.

The head of government emphasized that the Kyrgyz side is interested in stable work of the company and in its further development."The government is committed to effective joint work and creation of favorable conditions for cooperation of Kumtor mine Company , as well as for Kyrgyz citizens working for Kumtor," said Isakov.

Within the framework of the Strategic Agreement with CenterraGold Inc., in the near future the National Cancer Center will be equipped with modern medical equipment. Moreover, preparatory works for the installation of water purification facilities on Issyk-Kul Lake will be started where the company will invest $ 50 million.

Isakov expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Canadian company for supporting large-scale social projects in the country.In addition, the prime minister positively accepted how the company had followed Kyrgyz government’s recommendations on appointment of the top management of Kumtor Gold Company. To date, three of the company's five directors are Kyrgyz citizens.

Executive director of Centerra Gold Inc. Mr. Scott Perry congratulated the Kyrgyz side with the election of new president of the country. He stressed the importance of maintaining the continuity of the country's political course, which among other things aims at the progressive development of relations with the company Centerra Gold Inc..Perry especially highlighted the company’s readiness for further deep cooperation with the Kyrgyz side.

During the meeting, the parties also expressed interest and discussed steps for the further development of Centerra Gold Inc., as well as the expansion of its assets.
