Principles of green economy to be integrated in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Nov. 23, 2017. /Kabar/. The principles of the green economy will be integrated into the government's project "Forty steps to new era", Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Tolkunbek Abdygulov said at the forum "Green Economy": from theory to practice. New business opportunities".

He said that today Kyrgyzstan is facing environmental problems that are creating certain risks for sustainable development.

"Weak implementation of energy-saving technologies, the exhaustion of natural resources without creating alternatives and loss of natural ecosystems are identified as major danger. Climate change may be a serious challenge for Kyrgyzstan. The most vulnerable will be a water resource that will reduce the potential for the development of hydropower and agriculture”, said Abdygulov.

He also said that Kyrgyzstan has all the prerequisites for creating a green economy. "This direction is a priority. We are moving in this path towards the sustainable development.
