Bishkek, Aug. 18, 2020 / Kabar /. The production of galoshes, mixed fodders, masks and a steel workshop was opened in Kyrgyzstan, chairman of the board of the Guarantee Fund OJSC Malik Abakirov told at a briefing.
He said that the production of galoshes was recently opened on the territory of the Leilek Free Economic Zone. This FEZ has been operating for over 10 years, but there were no stable production facilities there.
“We asked our client to open a production there, and from June 1 he started producing galoshes there. Our country consumes 2 million pairs of galoshes a year. The capacity of the new production is about 3 thousand pairs per month, there is a possibility of export to Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Also, a steel shop was recently opened in the city of Kara-Balta, which received the first contract from Kazakhstan and has already sent the first batch of production of 18 tons for export to the Shymken Cement Plant, which wants to increase the order if the products pass the quality guarantee,” Abakirov said.
He also noted that the fund supported a project for intensive sheep breeding. “Recently a line for the production of mixed fodders was opened, which contributes to a more accelerated weight gain of sheep, etc. which will help farmers send products for export faster. In addition, a workshop for the production of medical masks was opened at the Bishkek FEZ. The fund supported this project together with the Kyrgyzstan Bank. We hope that the production of masks, after securing the domestic market, will be able to export,” the chairman added.
