Bishkek, May 23, 2022 / Kabar /. The Comprehensive Increase in the Productivity of the Dairy Industry project has been launched in Naryn Oblast of Kyrgyzstan.
The project will support measures to increase the number of dairy farms, increase the productivity of dairy cattle, supply tank trucks to dairy processing plants, create seed funds, and support regional veterinary diagnostic centers.
The Comprehensive Increase in the Productivity of the Dairy Industry project is financed by the World Bank through the International Development Association for a total of USD 17 million. 50 percent of them are grant and 50 percent is a loan for 38 years. The project covers Issyk-Kul, Naryn and Talas Oblasts.
The executive bodies of the project are the Ministry of Agriculture and Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic. The work on the project has already begun in Naryn Oblast.
USD 200-300 thousand will be allocated within the framework of the project for the certification of veterinary laboratories in Naryn in accordance with European standards. In addition, to increase the productivity of dairy cows, artificial insemination of 3,000-4,000 cows and breeding calves will be carried out. For remote villages, special tank trucks with refrigerators will be delivered to transport milk to dairies.
