Kyrgyz delegation takes part in SCO meeting of Prosecutor Generals in Tajikistan

Bishkek, Sept. 21, 2018. /Kabar/. Prosecutor General Otkurbek Dzhamshitov attended a meeting of the Prosecutors General of the SCO in Tajikistan.

On September 20, 2018, a delegation of the Kyrgyz Prosecutor General's Office led by Prosecutor General Otkurbek Dzhamshitov took part in the 28th meeting of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of the CIS member states and the 16th meeting of the Prosecutors General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member-states in Dushanbe, the Republic of Tajikistan.

Heads of the supervisory bodies of the CIS and SCO countries - Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, India, Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, representatives of the observer states - Afghanistan, Iran, Mongolia and other states participated in the events.

"The issues of coordinating the efforts of the Prosecutor General's Offices of the CIS member-states in key areas of prosecutorial activity were considered at the meeting. The strengthening of inter-agency interaction and cooperation through prosecutors of the SCO member-states, focusing on activating activities in countering international terrorism, extremism were discussed”, the press service reported.

At the end of the past meetings, decisions were taken to hold the 29th meeting of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of the CIS member states and the 17th meeting of the Prosecutors General of the SCO member-states in the Kyrgyz Republic in autumn, 2019.

In addition, within the framework of the visit, bilateral working meetings of the Prosecutor General of the Kyrgyz Republic with the Prosecutors General of Kazakhstan, China, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan were held.

During the meeting, the sides paid attention to the increase in the activity of international cooperation in mutual legal assistance, the continuation of the exchange of experience and the development of professional skills in various areas of prosecutorial activity, the adoption of effective measures to ensure the implementation of legislation in the field of countering various transnational threats.

In addition, an agreement was reached on joint development of draft agreements on cooperation between the Prosecutor General's Offices of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, as well as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
