Prospects of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan, HSBC discussed in Hong Kong

Bishkek, Jan.13, 2025. /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev held a meeting with Managing Director and Chief of Staff of HSBC in Hong Kong (The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation) Daniel Drew.

The meeting was held on the margins of the Asian Financial Forum, which is taking place these days in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.

Adylbek Kasymaliev and Daniel Drew discussed the prospects of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and HSBC, including the establishment of correspondent relations between Kyrgyz and international banks, the press service of the Kyrgyz Cabinet reported.

The head of the Kyrgyz Cabinet expressed interest in developing partnership relations with HSBC, one of the world's leading financial institutions.

The chairman of the Cabinet emphasized that commercial banks in Kyrgyzstan work in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Basel principles of banking supervision and undergo annual independent audit by leading international audit companies.

In turn, Daniel Drew noted that HSBC is interested in expanding its presence in Central Asia, and sees great potential for cooperation with Kyrgyzstan.

The meeting ended with a discussion of the prospects for further mutually beneficial cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and HSBC
