Prospects of development of the cluster "One Village - One Product" discussed in Issyk-Kul

A meeting of the Council for Business Development and Investments is held in Issyk-Kul, with the participation of representatives of local authorities and representatives of business communities in the region, the press service of the Issyk-Kul state administration reports.

During the meeting Secretary of the Council for Business Development and Investments of Issyk-Kul oblast Aibek Sharshenbaev focused on the future development of the cluster "One Village - One Product" touching upon a number of issues that will ensure the success of the cluster.

Nazira Erkinbekova, the leader of the cluster "OSOP", told that the lack of Merino breed of sheep to produce high quality wool felt causes a barrier for the product manufacturers to meet the existing demand in foreign markets.

"For the development of the production of felt products and further export we need quality raw materials. There is an urgent need for coordinated action of local authorities and entrepreneurs in this direction," she said.

During the discussion of this question Nargiza Erkinbekova and leader of the cluster "National Products and Souvenirs" Kenzhe Toktosunova were invited to develop a document (memorandum, contract) on joint cooperation for a more effective use of local resources such as wool.

According to data of the Council for Business Development and Investments, more than 2 thousand inhabitants of Issyk-Kul oblast, 90% of which are women are involved in the sphere of production of felt products and souvenirs.
