Tashkent, April 27 / Kabar /. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan in Uzbekistan Daniyar Sydykov and newly elected chairman of the Friendship Society "Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan", chairman of the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan Muhammad Ali discussed on Tuesday the state and prospects of Kyrgyz-Uzbek cooperation in the field of people's diplomacy, the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Tashkent reported.
The sides noted the need to implement joint activities to strengthen cultural ties between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. In this context, the sides agreed to use the full potential of cooperation of the People’s Assembly of Kyrgyzstan with relevant public organizations of Uzbekistan.
The sides emphasized the importance of holding roundtables, exchange visits of theatrical companies, publication of collections of works by Kyrgyz and Uzbek authors in further development and strengthening of Kyrgyz-Uzbek cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.
They also considered the possibility of holding in 2018 joint projects timed to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, the 90th anniversary of the birth of Kyrgyz writer Chyngiz Aitmatov.
Sydykov congratulated Muhammad Ali on his election to a responsible position and wished him success in his creative and public activities.
