Bishkek, Mar. 18, 2019. /Kabar/. A protocol was signed to resolve the situation at the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border in Batken oblast. The document was signed by Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Jenish Razakov and Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Azim Ibrohim, the press service of the Government Office of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
According to the protocol, an agreement was reached on the continuation of construction work on the Kok-Tash – Ak-Sai – Tamdyk highway. Transport links in the border areas will be fully restored as before. Vice Prime Minister Jenish Razakov stressed that in the signing of the Protocol the mutual interests of the two countries were taken into account.
In addition, Razakov and heads of relevant state bodies and local authorities visited the construction site of the Kok-Tash – Ak-Sai – Tamdyk highway.
The work of joint investigation teams of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan for studying the consequences of the situation at the Kyrgyz-Tajik border will be continued.
