Putin announces possibility of producing Sputnik V vaccine in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, May 21, 2021. / Kabar /. The possibility of launching production of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine in Kyrgyzstan and Armenia is being considered, Russian President Vladimir Putin told at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council held via videoconference.

He said that the release of Sputnik V has been successfully localized in Kazakhstan and Belarus.

“Russia is the only country that is transferring vaccine technology. The possibility of deployment is now being considered in Armenia and Kyrgyzstan,” he said.

In addition, the Russian president considers it important to pay special attention to cooperation in the field of drug safety.

“Domestic very effective drugs have appeared in the fight against coronavirus. By the end of the year, EAEU experts must prepare an action plan to provide our countries with strategically important medicines for the treatment of not only coronavirus, but also other diseases. In fact, we are talking about the fact that it is necessary in the near future to organize the production of effective drugs in volumes sufficient to meet the needs of the national system,” he said.
