Bishkek, Mar. 27, 2019. /Kabar/. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin sent an address to the participants and guests of the I Forum of Rectors of Universities of Kyrgyzstan and Russia, which is being held today in Bishkek with the participation of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov.
Chief of the Presidential Directorate for Interregional Relations and Cultural Contacts with Foreign Countries Vladimir Chernov read out the address, on behalf of the Russian leader.
Putin’s address is as follows:
"Dear friends!
I cordially greet you on the occasion of the opening of the first Forum of Rectors of Universities of Russia and Kyrgyzstan "Development of Science and Education, Investment in the Future."
Such an event is, of course, very much needed. A direct dialogue between higher educational institutions of the two states provides ample opportunities for development of interaction in the field of education and science, and contributes to strengthening of bilateral humanitarian ties, which traditionally are an important component of the Russian-Kyrgyz strategic partnership.
You are about to exchange practical experience in teaching, research and organizational work, to consider the prospects for implementation of joint projects, both on a bilateral basis and within the framework of Eurasian integration processes. It is important to think together about how to preserve and enhance our common intellectual, cultural and spiritual heritage.
I am sure that your discussions will be interesting and informative, will allow to outline new forms and methods of cooperation between universities of Russia and Kyrgyzstan. And of course, they will serve to strengthen friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of our countries.
