Bishkek, Nov.21, 2019. /Kabar/. Russian President Vladimir Putin sent words of welcome to participants of the “Islam and Orthodoxy - Religions of Peace" International Conference , held in Bishkek.
Ambassador of Russia to Kyrgyzstan Nikolay Udovichenko read out words of the Russian leader.
“Islam and Christianity, like other world religions, are based on fundamental humanistic values of great importance, on mercy and love for one's neighbor, on justice and respect for the human person. Therefore, joining the efforts of religious organizations and constructive interaction with the state are inconspicuous conditions for strengthening civil peace and harmony in our countries,” the President of Russia said.
In addition, Vladimir Putin stressed it is very important to preserve the positive historical experience, to preserve and pass on to descendants the unique heritage of good traditions of friendship, mutual respect and understanding among people of different religions.
“I expect that during the Conference you will discuss ways of development of interfaith and interethnic dialogue. I wish you fruitful discussions and all the best,” Ambassador Udovichenko quoted the words of Vladimir Putin.
The “Islam and Orthodoxy-Religions of Peace” International Conference, attended by President Sooronbay Jeenbekov, is taking place at the Ala-Archa state residence in Bishkek.
It is attended by representatives of the Spiritual Administrations of Muslims of Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Tatarstan, and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the Orthodox Church of Russia and Kyrgyzstan.
The purpose of the Conference is to analyze historical processes and the current situation in the sphere of interaction between Islam and Orthodox Christianity in the post-Soviet space, to discuss the common spiritual and cultural values of the two religions, their place and role in the construction of peace and harmony, the development of integration processes in the Eurasian space.
