Bishkek, April 27 / Kabar /. Qatar Airways will start direct flights twice a week between Doha and Kyrgyzstan capital Bishkek in the next few months, the Kyrgyz Ambassador to Qatar HE Nuran Niyazaliev has said.
He was speaking at a meeting between Qatar businessmen and a trade mission from Kyrgyzstan in Doha on Wednesday.
Hosted by Qatar Chamber, the meeting aimed at discussing ways to strengthen economic relations, explore investment opportunities, and create business partnerships between Qatari businessmen and their Kyrgyz counterparts in various fields.
The Kyrgyz envoy said the two countries enjoyed strong economic ties, which has led to the signing of 15 cooperation agreements and MoUs.
Qatar Chamber (QC) Vice Chairman Muhammed bin Ahmed bin Towar al Kuwari said Qatar and Kyrgyzstan have been striving to take their"good relations" to the next level. To that end, the two sides have given shape to a Kyrgyz-Qatari Joint Committee for Economic and Trade Cooperation, whose first edition was held in Doha last month, he added.
Terming the Kyrgyz laws investment-friendly, Towar called on businessmen in Qatar to derive benefit from the opportunity. He also called for building more opportunities for mutual cooperation.
"Qatar Chamber welcomes businessmen in the two countries to enhance cooperation in all economic sectors," Towar added.
"The door is open for Kyrgyz companies to increase their presence in the Qatari market and to build partnerships with their Qatar counterparts."
The Kyrgyz delegation consisted of 30 members representing various Kyrgyz companies from fields including export, food products, mineral water, agriculture, tourism, and construction.
The Kyrgyz delegation was headed by Alymbek Orozbekov, representative of the Agency for Investment Promotion and Export Promotion under the Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan in the presence of Nurlan Aripov, the Head of Kyrgyzstan Export Promotion Department.
