Bishkek, May 10 (QNA) - The Qatari cultural events in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan kicked off here today.The three-day event is organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, represented by the Department of Culture and Arts in cooperation with Kyrgyz Ministry of Information and Tourism, The opening ceremony was attended by a number of culture officials in the State of Qatar and the Kyrgyz Republic as well as HE Qatar's ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Mohammed bin Arar Al Nuaimi, and a number of interested people.
The cultural days include a host of events that are part of Qatar's rich and varied heritage.
Faleh Al-Ajlan Al-Hajri, Advisor to the Minister of Culture and Sports for Cultural Affairs and head of the Qatari delegation, stressed in a press statement the importance of such events in bringing people and cultures together. He pointed out that the first day witnessed many events, including the traditional Qatari Arada, (dancing) as well as a guest house where Arabic coffee is served, amid the turnout of the Kyrgyz public.
Al-Hajri expressed the hope that such events would contribute to introducing Qatari culture and heritage, noting the Qatar Fine Arts Exhibition will open on Thursday, featuring Qatari art and paintings and a film about history of pearls diving, the old places in Qatar , and the urban development that the country is witnessing will be screened in addition to the presentation of a popular Qatar folktale Qatar.
The Qatari cultural days will conclude on Friday with a lecture on Qatar projects and preparations for hosting the 2022 World Cup.
The Qatari cultural days come within the framework of cultural cooperation between the two countries, and in implementation of the cooperation agreement signed in 2014, in addition to the interest of the Ministry of Culture and Sports in introducing Qatari culture around the world, he noted, adding that that there will be Kyrgyz days in Qatar soon.
