Qatari doctors to conduct cochlear implant surgeries on children in Bishkek

Bishkek, Aug. 14, 2024. / Kabar/. Starting from October 24, a group of surgeons from the State of Qatar will perform cochlear implant surgeries as part of charity events at the National Center for Maternal and Child Health.

Such surgeries are being implemented within the framework of the Memorandum signed between the Government of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, and the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Qatari side undertakes to finance cochlear implants, free surgical operations, training of Kyrgyz surgeons and auxiliary medical personnel. The Qataris also assumed the costs associated with the rehabilitation of children after surgery.

In general, such operations have been carried out at the National Center for Maternal and Child Health since 2020. More than 120 children have already undergone cochlear implantation surgery.

In the near future, a rehabilitation center for children after cochlear implantation surgery is planned to be opened at the National Center for Maternal and Child Health. For this purpose, Qatar and the Lenhard Foundation (Germany) have promised to allocate additional financial resources.
