Qualification for 2020 IIHF World Championship. Kyrgyz team defeats Hong Kong

Bishkek, Apr. 5, 2019. /Kabar/. The Kyrgyz national hockey team defeated the Hong Kong team during the qualifying round of the 2020 IIHF World Championship in Abu Dhabi (UAE), the official website of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) reported.

The game ended with the score of 8:3 in favor of the Kyrgyztanis.

This is the fourth victory of the national team of the Kyrgyz Republic in the qualifying round. In their debut game, the Kyrgyz team defeated the Kuwaiti team with the score of 14:0. In the second game, the national team of the Kyrgyz Republic beat the team of Thailand with the score of 6:2, afterwards defeating the team of Bosnia and Herzegovina - 14:3.

On April 6, the Kyrgyz team is to play against the UAE team.

The IIHF World Championship is to be held in Zurich and Lausanne (Switzerland) from May 1 to May 17, 2020. In case of leaving the group, the national team of Kyrgyzstan will get the right to play in Division III.
