Bishkek, Apr. 2, 2019. /Kabar/. The national hockey team of Kyrgyzstan defeated the Thai team in the qualifying round of the 2020 IIHF World Championship, the official website of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) reported.
The game, which ended with the score of 6:2 in favor of the Kyrgyzstanis, was held in Abu Dhabi (UAE) on Monday.
This is the second victory of the national team of the Kyrgyz Republic in the qualifying round. In their debut game, the Kyrgyz team defeated the Kuwaiti national team with the score of 14:0.
Tomorrow, on April 3, the Kyrgyz team is to play against the team of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The IIHF World Championship is to be held in Zurich and Lausanne (Switzerland) from May 1 to May 17, 2020. In case of leaving the group, the national team of Kyrgyzstan will get the right to play in Division III.
