Quarantine area created in Kyrgyz capital

Bishkek, March 26, 2020. /Kabar/. A quarantine area has been created in Bishkek, Commandant of the capital Almazbek Orozaliyev said at a briefing at the Government House.

He added the zone is confined by 7th of April and Akhunbayev Streets, Molodaya Gvardiya and Jibek Jolu Avenues.

Orozaliyev noted this square is being disinfected.

"The quarantine zone is closed for cars and pedestrians, except for civil servants, doctors, security personnel, workers of the banking system and representatives of companies providing the capital with food and medicine," the commandant said.

From March 25 to April 15, a state of emergency is in force in the cities of Bishkek, Osh and Dzhalal-Abad, Nookat and Kara-Suu regions of Osh Oblast and in Suzak region of Dzhalal-Abad Oblast.

Movement for all citizens, except for those who are issued with a pass, namely internal affairs officers and medical and civil servants, is limited between 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. (night time). A curfew is established.

As of March 26, 44 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been registered in Kyrgyzstan, 6 people in serious condition are in intensive care, 10 of them have a medium severity condition, the rest - satisfactory.
