Razakov: Kyrgyzstan interested in deepening and expanding cooperation with Czech Republic

Bishkek, Apr. 10, 2019 / Kabar /. Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Zhenish Razakov met with Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Marta Novakova.

During the meeting, the topical issues of bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the Czech Republic were discussed, the Kyrgyz Government’s press service reported.

The Vice Prime Minister emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is interested in the comprehensive deepening and expansion of cooperation with the Czech Republic, since the current level of cooperation does not match the existing potential of the parties.

He also added that at present the Government of Kyrgyzstan is creating all the necessary conditions for foreign investors to conduct successful business activities and open joint ventures.

In turn, the Minister of Trade and Industry of the Czech Republic stressed the need for measures to increase bilateral cooperation between the countries.

She also agreed that the potential of mutual trade and investment activities between countries is not fully utilized, and stressed the need to discuss and take appropriate measures.

Novakova said that the main purpose of her visit was the signing of an intergovernmental agreement on the avoidance of double taxation between Kyrgyzstan and the Czech Republic.

She stressed that the active participation of entrepreneurs of the two countries in the first Kyrgyz-Czech business forum demonstrates a mutual interest in the development of investment cooperation.

In addition, the Minister of Trade and Industry of the Czech Republic noted the importance of continuing and developing the tradition of industrial cooperation between the countries. “We have all the prerequisites for becoming a hub for each other to enter the European and Asian markets,” she added.

Novakova noted that Kyrgyzstan has created good conditions for attracting and using foreign investments, and therefore Czech companies are interested in cooperating with Kyrgyzstan.

The sides expressed mutual readiness to continue active cooperation in all relevant areas and the development of the Road Map for Trade and Economic Cooperation.
