Bishkek, Oct. 13, 2021 . / Kabar / . "I myself will be involved in reforming the energy sector," Acting Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Kyrgyz President’s Office Akylbek Zhaparov said Wednesday during a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh.
He added that to date the share of the energy sector makes KGS 133 billion.
"The primary assessment has been completed and the assessment of 9 energy companies was KGS 103 billion. We are ready to capitalize all debts of the energy sector in the share capital of energy companies. You are right, they should not be fragmented and small (energy companies). In this case we have an energy company with a charter capital of about KGS 250 billion, accordingly it can begin the process of borrowing.
Today we are in a vicious circle - we can't give money to energy companies because the budget is not yet strong, and energy companies can't get money because they owe the budget. This circle will be broken. If we make their work understandable, they will be able to raise $1-2 billion on their own to build hydroelectric power plants. These steps will be taken before the new year," Zhaparov noted.
