Bishkek, Jan. 21, 2025. / Kabar /. Remittance of migrants make 30 % of GDP of Kyrgyzstan, according to data of the National Statistics Committee of the country.
The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that in January-November 2024, the inflow of money transfers from migrants amounted to 2.3 billion soms. Compared to the same period in 2023, it increased by 20.1%.
According to official data from the Ministry of Labor, Social Development and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic, 650 thousand citizens of Kyrgyzstan are in external migration.
This year, the number of Kyrgyzstanis who left for Britain for seasonal work exceeded 6,000 people, more than 10,000 Kyrgyzstanis work in Austria, and in the UAE in recent years the number of migrants from Kyrgyzstan has amounted to more than 11,000 people. According to the latest data, there are more than 36,000 Kyrgyzstanis in the United States, about 61,000 in Turkey, and about 65,000 citizens work in Kazakhstan. Also, about 5,000 Kyrgyzstanis are in migration in Italy.
