Bishkek, Dec. 10, 2019. /Kabar/. In Brussels, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov met with Henrik Hololei, Director-General for Mobility and Transport at the European Commission.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, during the meeting the sides considered the prospects of bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the EU in the field of transport, including joint actions to address the issue of exclusion of airlines of the Kyrgyz Republic from the so-called "black list" of the EU.
The European Commission expressed readiness to work actively on this issue, noting the importance of receiving additional requested materials from the Kyrgyz side on the measures taken within the framework of improving flight safety.
The list of air carriers banned in the European Union is a list of airlines failing to meet regulatory oversight standards of the EU, and which are banned from entering the airspace of any member state.
The first version of the list was published in 2006, on the legal basis of the Regulation of the European Commission, issued on 22 March of that year. The current version of the list was published on Nov. 30, 2017.
